Technical Service Engineer – Maintenance

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, particularly in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, or Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, or Civil Engineer
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer in the oil/gas or related industry is an advantage
  • Experience in project and contractor management
  • Knowledgeable in LPG system components (e.g., LPG tanks, piping, regulators, vaporizers, valves)
  • Familiar with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 58, Fire Code of the Philippines)
  • Completed BOSH and COSH Safety Training
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with restriction codes B, B1 & B2
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D drafting
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Willing to travel to client sites

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for all PLPI-owned LPG installations to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate directly with customers/accounts to schedule inspections and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and assess PLPI-owned LPG systems for repair, maintenance, or replacement. This includes tanks, regulators, valves, vaporizers, meters, piping systems, and other related equipment.
  • Generate inspection reports, checklists, and assessments, and provide recommendations for review and approval by the Technical Services Manager (TSM).
  • Prepare cost estimates and scope of work based on maintenance recommendations and secure TSM approval.
  • Create Purchase Requisitions (PR) and coordinate with the Materials Services and Procurement Group (MSPG) for maintenance-related tenders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities and update the asset management database.
  • Provide technical recommendations for system upgrades, repairs, and component replacements.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for specialized maintenance and repair work.
  • Assist PLPI dealers with repair and maintenance needs for their customers.
  • Supervise and manage maintenance contractors, ensuring compliance with PLPI standards, HSSE policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities are implemented cost-effectively and completed within schedule.
  • Optimize the utilization of LPG assets and resources.
  • Coordinate with accredited LPG suppliers for needed parts during maintenance, repair, or replacement activities.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and customer complaints, and maintain 24/7 availability when necessary.
  • Check the completeness of all documents submitted by contractors for payment processing.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of maintenance contractors.
  • Assist the TSM in the planning, preparation, and control of annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
  • Submit monthly reports and updates to the TSM.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Technical Services Manager.
