Phoenix typhoon relief operations in full swing
In the wake of multiple typhoons wreaking havoc in different parts of Luzon within the last few weeks, Phoenix Petroleum, a home-grown and leading independent oil brand, has mobilized various relief initiatives, utilizing its network of brands and partnerships.
In coordination with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), Phoenix has so far donated over 100,000 liters of free fuels to PRC’s ongoing Typhoon Rolly and Ulysses relief drives in Albay and Cagayan.
Meanwhile, together with ABS-CBN’s Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, 11 Phoenix SUPER LPG tanks were also donated and used for the roving soup kitchen that fed evacuees in the province of Rizal.
Furthermore, through the initiatives of its partner dealers in Albay, Rizal, Cagayan, and Isabela, Phoenix SUPER LPG donated cooking sets, rice, canned goods, and other packaged food for over 1,500 typhoon victims at various evacuation centers.
“We are now living in extraordinary times. On top of the pandemic, many Filipinos have greatly suffered from calamities in the past weeks. Hence, in the spirit of our ‘Sasamahan Ka Ng Phoenix’ mantra, we have organized various relief efforts to bring immediate help to our kababayans, and show to them that they have an indispensable partner in Phoenix whether it be in good or bad times,” said Phoenix Petroleum President Henry Albert Fadullon.
Company employees also pooled cash donations for 49 Phoenix workers who were greatly affected by the floods in the Cagayan region. Phoenix Philippines Foundation, Inc. then doubled the amount. Additionally, despite the work-from-home setup, seven sacks of blankets, a sack of pants, and seven boxes of old clothes were collected from employees who willingly gave in-kind donations for the typhoon victims.
Meanwhile, Phoenix SUPER LPG Fuel Masters, the professional basketball team of the company, has pledged to donate portions of their won-game bonus in the semifinals series of the PBA Bubble to affected communities in Albay and Cagayan.
Phoenix also joined other Udenna companies in extending relief to those in need. Early last week, the company, along with Wendy’s, Dito CME, and Worklink, through the Udenna Foundation and Philippine Air Force, gave away a total of 2,200 food packs to evacuees in Rizal as part of its immediate relief efforts.
Phoenix Philippines Foundation is also planning relief operations in areas that are still submerged in flood and to victims that are still in evacuation centers.
This year, Phoenix has launched several initiatives for those affected by calamities and disasters that struck the country. In January, it launched the award-winning corporate social responsibility campaign, ‘Tulong Para Sa Taal’, for people affected by the Taal Volcano eruption. Since March, the company has also been donating its products and offering its services to frontliners, communities, LGUs, and partner companies and foundations for various COVID-19 relief efforts.
